Lying at the crossroads of important European transport routes, Ljubljana is accessible by air, rail and road.
City buses
Those wishing to travel on Ljubljana city buses, operated by the Ljubljanski potniški promet (LPP) public utility company, should purchase the Urbana public transport card. The card is available from LPP ticket offices, tourist information centres and most of the city's newspaper kiosks, news-stands and post offices. The card is priced at €2.00 and can store up to €50.00 of credit to be spent on city bus fares.
For information on city bus timetables, send a text message (SMS) to 2929. To learn about bus arrivals, type in LPP, a space, the bus stop number, a space, and one or more bus numbers separated by spaces.
Car parks
Both in the centre and on the outskirts of Ljubljana there are plenty of car parks and parking garages situated close to main bus routes. Within the city, parking is allowed in marked parking spaces. Parking tickets can be purchased from ticket machines.
Taxi
In Ljubljana city centre you can easily find an unoccupied taxi. To obtain information on taxi services, contact any of Ljubljana's Tourist Information Centres (TIC) or talk to the staff at your hotel.
Bicycle hire
During the summer and early autumn months you can hire a bicycle from several hire locations across Ljubljana and take a ride around the city.
